This is wonderful! I've seen more and more Asian-themed communities over the last several years, and I was hoping that someone might make a list of them, who actually knows that branch of entertainment.

There's been a lot of activities within the Asian media communities (mostly the general communities) but yeah they can be a little scattered if one is not in those spheres.

I've seen enough to extrapolate the rising activity, and seen friends posting about events or communities they are in. But I haven't seen a gathering spot yet where I could point someone, so getting this list here is super useful. It makes me wonder if there's enough to fill a bulletin board / calendar community like fandomcalendar or potterfests. People who are into one Chinese TV series or Japanese anime are usually into more.

Oh, I see one on fandomcalendar related to cmedia! And hm, I wonder if events are not promoted as much on fandomcalendar because I vaguely remember seeing more on c_ent. I will keep in mind to suggest to promote on other places as well!

And yeah, generally people do branch out and watch more/read more.

I see occasional Asian things on fandomcalendar but not a lot, and I don't think it's nearly all of them. Mostly classic fest and bang type things appear there from the Asian branch. I see bits of that from friends who are into it, but I get the impression that it's kind of its own branch of Dreamwidth that doesn't overlap as much other stuff as some other fandoms do. Probably because some of it is actually in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.

It occurs to me that you don't need a separate community unless traffic gets heavy. A calendar post in c_ent or somewhere like that could work to gather announcements of events. potterfests has both individual announcements and gather posts.

I've seen some folks listing their interests that way, and it's generally true of fandoms that people have favorite genres or sources with a cluster of similar canons.
