summerofthe69 will be opening for business (more-or-less) in one week! In the mean time, this year's list of themes has gone live, for anyone who wants to start planning in advance. I did my best to get a good mix of kinks and concepts in there, so I hope you'll check it out!

A few months ago I created the true_crime community here on Dreamwidth. I took some time off the website for personal things, but now I'm back so I thought I'd drop it in here :)

I like to use websites or maps for towns that show things like crime rates, or if I can't find that, income levels. It helps me spot which are the "bad" towns in a state or the neighborhoods in a town. We did a pretty thorough breakdown of Lincoln, Nebraska when setting up for a new gang in town. We also checked all the towns around Merced, California to look at crime traffic passing through town, like moving stolen cars. It gets really interesting to look at which crimes happen where, and why -- the differences can be really stark even over short distances.
