Since we have an influx of new people on Dreamwidth, I posted my list of DW community recs again, this time with five additions to the list since I last posted it.

Anyone can link to the post - it's public so freely shareable. I'd also be happy to add communities to the list, so if there's any cool communities you know about, do let me know.

I've noticed that too. Do you have any idea why? I haven't seen a reference to that, just lots of new people showing up. It usually means that some other service screwed the pooch and people are looking for a replacement.

Yeah, Cohost is shutting down, or possibly has already, I'm not sure. I wasn't very aware of the site, but it was popular with people I follow on Mastodon and they were lamenting its end.

(denise mentioned Cohost shutting down in the latest news post so I'm a little surprised you haven't heard about it, but maybe you don't read dw_news?)

That's very helpful. I've posted "Cohost Is Closing" and "Cohost News" on newcomers.
